| Sweet Memories Butterfly Farm started in 2003 when my mom and I decided to become partners and open a business doing what she loved. Butterflies! She always had a hobby of butterfly gardening and raising caterpillars so we figured this would be a great way to make some money doing what we love. We started with just one mini flight house and a few dozen butterflies but since then we have expanded. We still have the little flight house that we use but we also have a big one that can we can do tours in. We also added a lab and a gift store. In 2006 we started doing tours for schools, garden clubs and just anyone who had an interest in gardening for butterflies. I really like to stress that we are a working farm and there is life and death here. Not all of our butterflies are bright and vibrant. Some of them are old and slow but we don't just toss them , they get to live out their days among are gardens ,safe from birds and other predators. In 2006 my mom was diagnosed with RRMS ( Relapsing Remitting MS) so I have since taken over the business. Shes still my brains and often gets calls about how to do things since she was the butterfly brains. Hopefully I can carry on her dream of having this business and give you Sweet Memories when you purchase our butterflies. |
